王亞軍,李強,溫錫瑩,劉景林,薛國平,吳云芳,王鳴,周錦堂,王小燕,黃素影,張杰,石琦清晨，剛從大學畢業回鋼廠任技術員的姑娘羅曉琳，興沖沖地來到了加熱爐青年班，發現小李子違犯了安全操作規程，便不留情面地批評了他。這種嚴格要求原本無可非議，然而響當當的青年班卻覺得他們竟被一個女大學生管住了，未免太不光彩。于是就對羅曉琳很反感，就連班長項志強也不例外。車間主任項師傅對待此事的態度卻和兒子項志強截然不同，他非常贊賞羅曉琳這種敢抓敢管的作風，他要求羅廠長讓羅曉琳來管青年班。羅曉琳到加熱爐班后，既抓生產又抓學習，青年班這群屬猴的感到很不痛快，甚至影響了項班長與羅曉琳之間早已產生、但尚未表白的感情。青年班為了搶速度，求數量，背著羅曉琳蠻干，終于發生了卡鋼故事。為此全班每個人的獎金都都被扣掉一部分。小李子對此事很惱火，便在一次闖紅燈罰款時把闖紅燈的女工陳玉的姓名說成羅曉琳，弄得羅廠長為闖紅燈的事狠狠批評了女兒羅曉琳一頓。項志強明知事情真象又不愿揭發小李子，自己承擔了責任，被嚴父狠批一頓。羅曉琳為項班長替人受過的精神所感動，主動把燒破洞的安全帽補好送給項志強。正在寫檢查而總是寫不好的項志強，猛然感覺到羅曉琳對自己的深情，待羅去后，他忍不住寫起情書來。在全車間的檢討會上，小李子搶過項志強的檢查，替班長代念，以求減輕自己搞惡作劇的內疚。不料當眾念的卻是一張情意綿綿的情書，引起全車間的哄堂大笑。羅廠長、項主任十分尷尬，難以下臺，羅曉琳更是羞赧地奪門而逃。這消息很快傳給了項大媽，她對念情書一事感到非常滿意，于是，老兩口也卷到這出戲劇性的沖突里去了。一天，羅曉琳約項志強下班后去參觀電子技術展覽，青年班的活躍人物們跟蹤而至。羅曉琳和項志強只顧忙著躲避后邊的跟蹤，竟誤闖進了"國慶集體結婚登記處"。管理人員要他倆登記，他們拿起筆來就寫姓名，也沒填表，就急匆匆地跑去看展覽了。國慶前夕，省婦聯負責"集體婚禮"工作的鄭同志來通知項和羅補辦手續，才發現這是一場喜劇性的誤會。這是一場美好的誤會。項大媽卻為兒子國慶不能結婚感到惋惜，幸而親家提議新年結婚，她才喜笑顏開。姑娘小伙們也為這即將舉行的喜慶笑得十分開心！
等待方舟

The story follows the wanderings of a hero through the situations of survival. People wait for the Ark to arrive and rescue them while their habitat falls apart. Delving deep into the dusty and long abandonded vaults of b-cinema in search of lost gems always leaves me with a bittersweet taste. On one hand the discovery of unexpected gems where no one would think them possible is a rewarding experience. On the other hand though it makes one wonder how many of these remarkable low-budget oddities, personal love affairs of directors never quite famous and now all but forgotten, have almost forever slipped from memory? n any case what we have here is a little post-apocalyptic gem from Poland that is really better than it has any right to. The dystopian near future of O-BI, O-BA finds a group of survivors of the nuclear war that ravaged the Earth inhabiting an underworld concrete bunker and biding their time as they wait for the mysterious Ark, an air ship of some kind that will come and save them. The Ark proves to be an elaborate hoax, carefully designed to give hope to the malnourished and desperate denizens of the bunker, while in the meantime the dome that separates their miserable existence from the nuclear winter outside is slowly caving in. What first striked me about the movie is the design of the bunker and the depiction of the survivors. The survivors are gaunt, filthy and terrible-looking penitents, dressed in rags and aimlessly wandering the neon-lit halls of the bunker like automatons. The bunker is a rundown, seedy place, with bright neon lights peering from all sides like the eyes of malignant beasts. On one hand it is a slightly 80's depiction of the dystopian future but the movie never stoops down to MAD MAX cheese. Instead it combines biting political satire with the bleak outlook of a world with no future, black comedy with barbs on apathy, religion and power. The survivors, for example, are fed some kind of flour dropping from a tube that hovers in the air - later on we discover the food supervisor uses books and the Bible itself as filler for this meagre meal. There are many such short symbolic touches, perhaps not life-changing or faith-restoring, yet playful, clever and inspired. One thing is for sure; O-BI, O-BA is not your run-of-the-mill sci-fi schlock. It overcomes its modest budget with creativity and has genuine artistic aspirations both from a writing and directing perspective. My opinion is that it should have been filmed in black and white instead of colour though. The director uses atmospheric light and shadow to great effect and it would have registered even better in stark black and white. The blue-green neon on the other hand outstays its welcome after a while. Just a minor gripe in an otherwise solid b-movie with its heart set in all the right places. Imagine a less bleak THE ROAD (Cormac McCarthy) being injected with the satire and humour of DR.STRANGELOVE and you're getting there. See it if you can find it.
