Soda intends to launch the film to coincide with the reunion concert tour of Bros., the 1980s' pop band Luke performed in with his brother Matt. The reunion was original intended as a one-off concert at London's O2 Arena on August 19, marking the anniversary of the band's last concert in 1989. However, when that show sold out within a minute of going on sale the tour was expanded to include six further dates at the O2 and at other venues around the U.K. in August

 1898年6月11日，光緒皇帝向全國頒布了"明定國是"詔書，中國近代史上轟轟烈烈的戊戌變法運(yùn)動開始了。為了網(wǎng)羅天下英才，軍機(jī)處兩次拍電報催促譚嗣同火速進(jìn)京。譚嗣同辭別了妻子李閏，踏上征途。途中，黃河兩岸餓殍滿地，哀鴻遍野的景象深深震動了譚嗣同，他更堅信只有變法才能救中國。與此同時，在頤和園的慈禧太后及心腹老臣們不動聲色地把輔佐皇上變法、為皇上保薦人才的軍機(jī)大臣翁同和撤了職，遣送回鄉(xiāng)。提升榮祿為直隸總督兼北洋大臣，把持兵權(quán)，統(tǒng)攝北洋三軍，給剛剛開始的變法維新一個警告和打擊。譚嗣同到京后，馬上受到光緒皇帝的召見。他橫溢的才思和無畏的膽識備受皇上贊賞。光緒皇帝激動地授予他四品章京銜，命他在軍機(jī)處供職，希望他成為中興之臣。革新志士康有為、楊深秀、林旭、劉光第等在得月樓設(shè)宴為譚嗣同洗塵。他們燭下長談，共謀維新大業(yè)。兵部侍郎袁世凱也前來拜訪譚嗣同，并獻(xiàn)五百兩銀子，對維新大業(yè)略表微衷。禮部尚書懷塔布扣押了主事王照奏請皇上游歷東西各國的折子，革新志士抓住了這件事，奏請皇上，撤了禮部六堂官懷塔布、許應(yīng)骙等。光緒皇帝依靠譚嗣同、康有為變法圖強(qiáng)的決心，深深地震驚了以太后為首的封建專制勢力。此時，譚嗣同、康有為等準(zhǔn)備乘勝追擊，奏請皇上開設(shè)懋勤殿，駕空昏庸老臣，實行朝鋼獨(dú)斷。太后和榮祿也頻頻來往，密室共議。他們一面調(diào)動軍隊做好防范，一面籌劃9月天津閱兵，準(zhǔn)備到時廢掉皇上。新舊兩黨的斗爭達(dá)到白熱化。在這關(guān)鍵時刻，光緒皇帝遭到太后的軟禁，相知相愛的珍妃亦被打入冷宮。康有為、譚嗣同等了5天不見君面，只得到一道光緒設(shè)法傳出來的要他們設(shè)法相救的特諭。他們當(dāng)時都驚愕不已，束手無策。譚嗣同突然想到兵部侍郎袁世凱，決定孤注一擲，夜訪法華寺，求助于袁世凱?？戳嘶噬嫌H筆手諭，袁世凱萬分震驚。他慷慨陳詞發(fā)誓要效犬馬之勞。但在打發(fā)下了譚嗣同后，袁世凱權(quán)衡利弊，最后，決定投靠太后，出賣了譚嗣同和維新大業(yè)。慈禧太后得到密報，連夜返回紫禁城，發(fā)動了震驚中外的戊戌政變，再度訓(xùn)政。除康有為、梁啟超逃往國外外，革新志士紛紛被捕。譚嗣同謝絕了梁啟超、日本友人及好友大刀王五的誠懇相救，決心以一死來驚醒黎民百姓。譚嗣同的愛妻突然來到了北京，沒想到相聚竟是死別。殘燭前，夫妻凄然把酒相對。譚嗣同等6位維新派志士被押往菜市口刑場。譚嗣同為無力回天而感嘆，為死得其所而慰藉。他們把滿腔熱血噴灑在祖國的大地上。
